Last Thursday I had the honor of attending the PRSA Silver Anvil Awards in New York. While there are a ton of awards now in the PR industry, the Anvils are the gold standard in PR. They were the first award to recognize stellar work in our profession and have brought together the best of the best year after year.
For the 2012 Silver Anvils, there were close to 1,000 submissions and just over hundred finalists. To be chosen as a finalist is something to be proud of on its own. The judges represent some of the brightest in our industry and the decisions are taken very seriously. That’s why, when I heard our name said out loud to come on stage and accept our Anvil in the events and observances category, I was immediately taken back to the concepting of our program, the amazing hard work my team put into the execution and the risk our client took by selling in the idea internally. Together with Safeway, we created a unique way to launch a new brand that truly captured both media attention and consumer trial.
Access also took home a second Anvil for work on Sony Playstation in partnership with Ketchum – our owner who truly dominated the show.
To be honored by our peers is such a validation and inspires us to think up the next Anvil worthy campaign…hats off to all the winners , including our owner Ketchum who dominated the show, for amazing work that continues to raise the bar.
